The Vice President of Product Management, reporting to the CEO, is responsible for leading category product and program management as well as oversight of the corporate distribution business. The VP of Supply Chain is key member of the leadership team, responsible for driving sustainable profitable growth and increasing share for our member shareholders. The focus of this team is a comprehensive and competitive product and service portfolio from our supply chain.
Collaborate with leadership and the product committee to be the leader in the commercial vehicle aftermarket.
Understand the segmented market size and strategically manage categories to target share gain.
Devise programs to effectively win product lines appropriate and varying tactics ie. Value lines, Good, Better, Best, etc.
Lead the team driving the supply base generating market competitive programs with supplier partners, earning profitable growth for our Shareholders.
Drive robust process internal process improvements for data warehouse and business intelligence for industry leading analytics that drive successful programs and growth targets for the overall category.
Benchmark competition and categorical players constantly.
Develop talent of product category management team, procurement and warehouse management personnel and team with peers to drive a robust talent management process.
Work cross functionally with Sales and Marketing for flawless launch and rapid market penetration for members with end user fleets and service centers. Evangelize continuous improvement and best practices.
Develop promotional programs – establish goals and provide Senior Management metrics on the success of those programs.
Manage warehouse to improve product offering and range with increased GMROI, and world class operation metrics in accuracy, cost as a percent of sales, safety, and employee turnover.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management or Engineering REQUIRED. MBA preferred.
10– to 15 years’ experience in the Commercial Vehicle Segment of OES or Independent Aftermarket with increasing responsibility in procurement, merchandising, product management and or supply chain.
Excellent communication skills. Overall skills required – written, verbal and interpersonal. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external managers, customers, suppliers, and the general public.
Exceptional people skills and emotional intelligence capabilities with the ability to establish and maintain relationships at Members, suppliers and the industry. Ability to manage up, down and across organization charts.
Strong computer skills including MS Office. Sales Force or CRM system, warehouse management, and solid Excel skills and data base management required.
Refined organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Always think strategically and act tactically.
Strong leadership and demonstrated ability to team for organization results. Demonstrate sensitivity, objectivity, confidentiality, good judgment and empathy when handling all company issues.
Mechanical aptitude or certification with a desire to continually learn and increase product, business and industry knowledge base.
Willingness to travel 15 to 25%.
