Reports to: CEO Collaborates closely with: Operations Manager, Quality Control Officer, Maintenance Department, Productive Personnel, Executive and leadership team members Schedule: (Exempt, Salary, Full-Time, Preferred work schedule: 6 AM – 2:30PM) Essential Job Activities - Oversee the daily activities related to procurement, quality, and production operations to ensure financial and strategic plan targets are met
- Monitor, and analyze department key performance indicators (KPI's)
- Be tenacious in meeting and exceeding all goals on time and with accuracy
- Analyze financial data and work to maximize revenue and reduce cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Collaborate, create, and execute strategic business plans
- Partner with HR and Supervisor/Manager to select, hire, or promote new employees
- Uphold all organizations values
- Ensure practices are in place to enforce the vision summary (6-critical questions)
- Conduct advanced project planning
- Run and update reports for weekly executive team reviews
- Build and maintain relationships with department heads, customers, and all external partners regarding operational activities related to strategic goals
- Analyze financial data and participate as a Finance Committee team member
- Support Continuous Improvement, using PRB boards and problem-solving tools such as A3, A8
- Present company strategic plan information to general workforce via Shop Talk meetings
- Provide monthly status reports to Board of Directors
- Set yearly CAPEX budget for equipment, technology, and machinery
- Meets with Vendors, Customers and Regulatory Officers
Position Purpose The Director of Operations (DOO) is the one in charge of all shop floor operations that take place in the company. The Director of Operations is an executive leader who will assess the organization's needs and take action to fulfill them. While an Executive position, this role is very “hands-on”. The DOO will communicate and work with the CEO and other Executive staff to implement and enforce company systems and processes. The DOO will also work to improve employee performance and satisfaction to benefit our organization. The DOO will be responsible for handling the negotiations, budgeting, inventory/resources for the company, and overseeing the procurement and purchasing of products.
